Translation and Minutes Group

Welcome to the
Translation and Minutes Group Website

The Translation and Minutes Group (TM) belongs to the Director General Unit (DGU).

It comprises:

• four French mother-tongue translators
• four English mother-tongue translators
• a Group Leader and
• an Administrative assistant.

We are responsible for translating official CERN documents to and from English and French, and from German and certain other European languages, and for drafting the minutes of official meetings of CERN bodies.

We are also in contact with outside translation agencies and freelance translators for translations into languages not covered by ourselves or for work which we cannot handle within reasonable deadlines.

Finally, the Service maintains a bilingual glossary of CERN-specific terminology.

The Translation and Minutes Group does not provide translations requiring official certification. Please consult the official list of sworn translators of the Canton of Geneva.
